Dear Bala Samraat and Yuva Samraat participants,

Kindly note the small changes in the rules to help and suit most of the finalists.

Owing to the requests from several sections we have made these changes after consulting our expert panel.

Bala Samraat Performance round :

Participant has to be ready to perform any one composition of their choice other than the one rendered in prelims, with aspects of Manodharmam which could include Ragam, neraval or swarams within 8 mins. No need to render the full song. The judges could specify the portion of the song to be rendered. All other clauses apply as before.

However Bala Samraat kids below 10 can attempt the interactive rounds or the performance rounds and if it is found difficult, the judges would help them by simply letting them perform in their comfort zone. The children below 10 can have spl prizes under the child category.

Yuva Samraat Jr changes in the performing round : Kindly note that those who are not familiar with the RTP can attempt to perform one composition from a choice of 2 compositions given to the judges with all aspects of manodharmam like ragam neraval and Swarams. Pls choose a composition not sung in the prelims.

Interactive round changes in the on the spot creative rounds : Ability to render instant Kalpana Swarams from the following ragas Varali, vachaspathi, begada, kambhoji and thodi only.

In the classicism round it is Anandhabhairavi and not anadhabhairavi as mentioned in the document. That was a typo error.

Violin students can note that they can be a part of a round to accompany the vocalists for a song or neraval or swaram round.

Yuva samraat participants can note that we have decided to award spl prizes for those who, do exceedingly well in the category of 13 to 15 year of ages, though they are a part of the entire list of Yuva Samraat teen group.

Kindly note those selected in the duo category can be a part of the Bala Samraat or Yuva Samraat Jr, based on the age the older child is and follow the same rules as that prescribed for individuals in that category and the group rules don't apply to them. The best duo will be a part of the overall Yuva Samraat or Bala Samraat. However, some spl prize may be considered within the duo categories common to vocal or instrumental.

Last but not the least, we want to ensure most participants do well.

Also with the deadlines coming, we have not received communication from several participants. RSVP is a must to ensure we can help conduct the event smoothly. The groups need to confirm their participation as well.

Kindly confirm if you are coming as we have several wait listed participants interested in coming. Please confirm your participation by OCT 7th, 2015.

Further clarification can be addressed to K.N.Shashikiran at 423 534 9724 on what's app or email knshashikiran@gmail.com
